Who Are We?
The Online Crime Prevention Team (OCPT) is a civilian led digital safety and safeguarding initiative dedicated to identifying, documenting, and reporting online threats, cyber enabled harms, and behaviour that places individuals, particularly young or vulnerable people, at risk. Our purpose is not to replace law enforcement, but to support victims, gather relevant information, and refer concerns to the appropriate statutory agencies when necessary.
OCPT utilises lawful open source intelligence techniques, digital reporting systems, and structured internal review processes to assess online concerns such as harassment, online exploitation, doxxing, impersonation, threats, and other forms of harmful online conduct. We do not engage in entrapment, covert surveillance, or any activity that requires legal authority. Instead, we act as an early warning and evidence preservation service, ensuring that victims and concerned individuals have a secure, confidential route to raise concerns.
All reports submitted to OCPT are reviewed by authorised personnel and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, safeguarding standards, and UK data protection law. Where a report indicates a credible threat, criminal activity, or behaviour involving a minor, our team may liaise with recognised law enforcement or statutory safeguarding bodies. OCPT does not act independently of legal oversight, nor do we intervene directly with offenders. Our role is to collect information responsibly, preserve digital evidence, and ensure that concerns are escalated through the correct channels. If you believe you or someone you know is the victim of online harm, you may contact OCPT using our secure reporting system. Our team will review your submission, assess the risk, and advise on the most appropriate next steps.
